WHY WEBER STATE

A number of my family  members went to Weber State, so I have a family connection here. Plus it's close to home. But the main reason I came was for the opportunity to play soccer.

WHY ACCOUNTING

I had taken a couple of accounting classes in high school and knew I wanted to study something in business. My accounting classes clicked with me, so I ran with it.

PROFESSOR IMPACT

Lisa Hopkins and James Hansen both impacted me during my education. They both built a good accounting foundation for me and also served as mentors. I am currently working at UMB Bank and have been my whole time as an undergrad student. I am entering the workforce now with a good 3 years of professional experience under my belt. Lisa and James both helped me with networking and encouraged me towards future endeavors.

WHAT'S NEXT

I will start the Master of Accounting program at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ this summer and start prepping for the CPA exam. I will continue playing soccer and working at UMB. I'll graduate from the MAcc after my last season playing soccer.

ADVICE FOR OTHER STUDENTS

Take the time to make personal relationships with your professors, because they want you to succeed. If your professors don't know you it's hard for them to help you. It's easier here than at other schools, so it's important to take advantage of the small class sizes.

GRATITUDE

I'm grateful for my time here at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ, it has impacted me in  many positive ways. Weber's a great school, and I would encourage other people to come here. The professors truly want you to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
