  • student“One of my favorite classes at Weber State is backcountry touring. The class consists of learning about avalanches in the classroom for one day, one day practicing avalanche rescue, then two days going into the backcountry to snowboard or ski. I love learning how to stay safe and how the environment works. Backcountry touring is one of my favorite classes because I can learn about the world and how it works, then apply it to doing some of the things I love most: snowboarding and spending time outside.”

“I started working at the Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) my very first semester. I didn't know where anything was or who anyone was. All I knew was that I was going to be paid to do what I loved: design!  CCEL is your one-stop shop to get engaged through direct service, civic engagement, and community research. I love that I get to share this information through design and marketing, sharing my love of community through my love of art. I urge everyone to check out CCEL!”

“If I could give my younger self any advice, it would be to tell him that happiness may not look the same in the future as you think it would, but it is truly AMAZING. Trust me, the future isn't going to look anything like you thought or how you were raised to believe it would look, but don't worry because it will look 1000 times better. I'd leave my past self by saying that you get to live for yourself, and all the people around you should always be proud of who you are and who you're becoming.”

"I wanted a school that had quality education and an affordable tuition, so I kept applying to different schools. I ended up doing my research about Weber State and I fell in love with it. I especially loved the view that the school has and the mountains surrounding it. I’m a big fan of nature! Not to forget that the tuition was much more affordable compared to the other schools I had applied to. I received an email confirming my admission and a scholarship to help pay for school. I was overjoyed! I’m definitely proud to be a WILDCAT!!!”鈦
